Ngữ pháp tiếng anh luyện thi TOEIC – Unit 16: have và have got – HocHay
- Have got và has got có hình thức ở thì htht: have/has + V3/-ed. Mặc dù ở trong hình thức của thì hoàn thành nhưng chúng lại diễn đạt ý nghĩa ở thì hiện tại.
- Cụm từ này được sử dụng để chỉ sự sở hữu, theo cách gần giống như động từ have (nhất là trong bài phát biểu hay bài viết không trang trọng). Chúng nhấn mạnh sự sở hữu trong câu.
Ví dụ: các cặp câu sau đây có nghĩa gần như giống hệt nhau.
- I have got three cats and two dogs.
I have three cats and two dogs. - She has got a lot of friends.
She has a lot of friends
- Tuy nhiên, không bao giờ sử dụng have/has got để thay thế cho have khi have được sử dụng để mô tả một hành động.
Ví dụ:
- I have dinner at 7 p.m.
- NOT: I have got dinner at 7 p.m.
- Ta có thể dùng dạng quá khứ hoàn thành khác của get: gotten. Dạng này được dùng để mô tả quy trình, chẳng hạn như sự tiếp nhận (thông tin, phản hồi), sự sát nhập hoặc một số hành động khác.
Ví dụ:
- I have gotten word that your mother is sick.
(Tôi nhận được tin là mẹ của anh bị ốm) - She’s gotten a lot of positive feedback about the show.
(Cô ấy nhận được rất nhiều phản hồi tích cực về buổi biểu diễn)

- Have/has gotten không được sử dụng để mô tả quyền sở hữu:
I know that they have gotten lots of money.
→ diễn tả sự nhận được tiền hơn là sự sở hữu hoàn toàn.
- Gotten hầu như chỉ được sử dụng trong tiếng Anh Mỹ, rất hiếm khi được sử dụng trong tiếng Anh Anh.
