Will và be going to đều có nghĩa là "sẽ" và chúng đều là thì tương lai. Vậy làm sao để phân biệt thì tương lai đơn (will) và tương lai gần (be going to)? Đâu là sự khác biệt giữa cách dùng will và be going to?

Will	Be going to
Dùng để đưa quyết định, kế hoạch ngay lúc nói A: Hey, you forget to turn off the light. B: Really? I'll turn it off now. (Nè, cậu quên tắt đèn - Thật hả? Tui đi tắt liền)	Dùng để đưa ra quyết định, dự định đã được lên kế hoạch trước cho tương lai. I'm going to visit my grandma this weekend. (Tôi sẽ đi thăm bà của tôi cuối tuần này)
Đưa ra dự đoán cho tương lai xa (in the remote future), dựa trên ý kiến, suy nghĩ cá nhân When I grow up, I will become a writer. (Khi con lớn lên, con sẽ trở thành nhà văn)	Đưa ra dự đoán cho tương lai gần (in the near future), dựa trên bằng chứng, dấu hiệu (có thể nghe nhìn cảm nhận) There're lots of black clouds in the sky. It's going to rain. (Có quá trời mây đen luôn. Trời sắp mưa rồi)
Dùng để nói 1 sự thật, đưa ra 1 lời hứa hẹn, 1 yêu cầu, đề nghị… - I'll be back. (Anh sẽ trở về) - I'll help you with that box.
Dùng khi trong câu có các từ chỉ thời gian như: before, after, until, till, as soon as, when I'll call you when I get there. (Tôi sẽ gọi cho bạn khi tới đó)

=> Cách sử dụng  của will nhiều hơn be going to
