1. Cách dùng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn:

Cách sử dụng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn	Ví dụ
Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn trong tiếng anh diễn tả một việc đang diễn ra ngay tại thời điểm nói	Stephanie is preparing for dinner at the moment. (Lúc này, Stephanie đang chuẩn bị cho buổi tối)
Mang nghĩa phàn nàn, thì hiện tại tiếp diễn thường đi cùng với always để bày tỏ ý phàn nàn về một hành động tiêu cực thường lặp đi lặp lại, gây khó chịu cho người khác.	Amanda! You are always going to work late! (Amanda, cô lúc nào cũng đi trễ hết!)
Diễn đạt một hành động sắp xảy ra trong tương lai gần, một kế hoạch đã lên lịch sẵn	I'm visiting my grandparents next month. (Tôi sẽ đi thăm ông bà vào tháng tới)
Chúng ta cũng sử dụng thì hiện tại tiếp diễn để diễn đạt về sự thay đổi nhỏ nhưng liên tục của một sự vật, sự việc.	Maria’s health is getting better. (Sức khỏe của Maria đang dần trở nên tốt hơn)
Diễn tả một hành động hoặc sự việc nói chung đang diễn ra nhưng không nhất thiết phải thực sự diễn ra ngay lúc nói	I've got a lot of assignment this semester. I'm doing a research, too. (Học kỳ này tôi có nhiều bài tập phải làm lắm, tôi cũng đang làm nghiên cứu nữa)

Lưu ý: Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn (httd) không dùng với các động từ chỉ sự nhận thức như: see, hear, understand, know, like, want, glance, feel, think, smell, love, hate, realize, seem, remember, forget…..

2. Cấu trúc thì hiện tại tiếp diễn:

a.Thể khẳng định:

S + be + V-ing + O + …

Chủ ngữ	Động từ to be
I	am
he/ she/ it	is
they/ you/ we	are

Ví dụ:

• I am walking to school.
  (Tôi đang đi bộ tới trường)
• They are driving to New York.
  (Họ đang lái xe tới New York)

b. Thể phủ định:

S + be + not + V-ing + O + …

Chủ ngữ	Động từ to be
I	am not
he/ she/ it	isn't (is not)
they/ you/ we	aren't (are not)

Ví dụ:

• You aren't doing your homework, don't lie to me.
  (Con không có làm bài tập, đừng xạo với mẹ)
• He isn't working at the moment.
  (Hiện tại anh ấy không làm việc)

c. Thể nghi vấn:

Yes/no question - Dạng câu hỏi phủ định yes/no được dùng khi người nói kỳ vọng câu trả lời sẽ là "yes"	Is/am/are + S + V-ing + O + …?	Are they talking about the lastest version of iPhone? (Có phải họ đang nói về phiên bản mới nhất của iPhone không?)
	Isn't/aren't + S + V-ing + O + …?	You want ta go out? Isn't it raining? (Con muốn ra ngoài sao? Không phải trời đang mưa à?)
	Is/am/are + S + not + V-ing + O + …?	You want to go out? Is it not raining?
Wh- question (Các từ để hỏi gồm what, when, where, why, how, which, …)  - Dạng câu hỏi phủ định Wh- được dùng để nhấn mạnh hoặc dùng như bình thường	Từ để hỏi +  is/am/are + S + V-ing + O + …?	What are you doing here Ms. Grambird? (Cô đang làm cái gì ở đây vậy cô Grambird?)
	Từ để hỏi +  isn't/aren't + S + V-ing + O + …?	Why aren't they leaving? (Tại sao họ lại lại không đi?)
	Từ để hỏi +  is/am/are + S + not + V-ing + O + …?	Who's coming to the party? Oh! Who isn't coming? (Ai tới buổi tiệc tối nay nào? Ôi trời, ai lại không tới chứ)

3. Dấu hiệu nhận biết:

- Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì hiện tại tiếp diễn (present continuous): trong câu thường có các từ: now, at present, at the moment, right now, still, look!, Listen! (những câu mệnh lệnh cách có dấu chấm than (!)) Và các từ như today, this week, this month, these days để diễn tả nghĩa tương lai.

Ví dụ:

• Look! the dog is running out.
  (Coi kìa! Con chó đang chạy ra)
• I’m going to New York after I finish this course.
  (Tôi sẽ tới New York sau khi hoàn thành khoá học này)
